The true beauty of Hawai'i is in the transformational feeling of awe that settles in the soul of the visitor. It is this feeling that there is a pure and perceivable beauty that keeps all kinds of people coming back to the beaches and forests of Hawai'i. My experience in the islands has been a journey from the stale expectation of paradise to the self-empowering appreciation of beauty that defies description. My photography is my attempt to mold my skills to the form and power of the beauty of our island home. I strive to convey the feeling of awe that one encounters when watching a sunset, the impossible color and texture of the ocean, and the vitality of our forests, streams, and waterfalls. These are not documentations of place and time. Rather, these images are meant to remind us of the beauty we found in Hawai'i so that we may hold it's inspiration close to our hearts.
